Stacy Horton plunged into the river with the hope of saving both his wife and son
In an awful scene on Saturday night, Stacy Horton’s wife was drowning, and his son was being taken to the bottom of the Wanganui River in the family car.

Stacy plunged into the river with the hope of saving them both.

But, in the end, he had to make a choice.

It is impossible to imagine being in that position, but terribly, just before 10pm on Saturday night, it was a reality for Stacy, his wife Vanessa, their son Silva and Silva’s mate Robert Palmer.
Stacy tells his story to Campbell Live, beginning with what he found when he arrived at the river in the dark.
